EASy POCUS Fundamentals
Day one of the competency pathway — one intensive day built around the EASy MAP protocol.
Course Overview
This one-day workshop is day one of the EASy competency pathway. Participants train systematic image acquisition hands-on and are introduced to interpretation through pattern recognition and phenotype-guided management — interpretation skill is then built through supervised practice after the course.

Train-the-Trainer Program
The instructor course — the step between competency and teaching EASy at your institution.
Course Overview
This intensive program prepares experienced sonographers to teach the EASy MAP protocol. It covers curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies.

Inside a live workshop
The first three blocks are the same in every EASy course, whatever the protocol on top. Day one is the MAP foundation; the application day repeats that shape for Sepsis, FAST or PDA. Hands-on time dominates by design — the exam is a psychomotor skill, and the decision is a habit. Simulation is the fourth block, and it earns most of its time on the ALS day.
1 · Image acquisition, on live models
A machine and a live model at every station, with faculty correcting the hand as it happens — probe pressure, the angle onto the pericardium, the rotation into the IVC. The target of this block is a picture good enough to interpret.
2 · Interpretation, out loud
A clip goes up and the group is asked before it is told. Naming a phenotype in front of colleagues is the exercise: a reading made silently cannot be challenged, and challenge is what makes it reliable.
3 · Case discussion and management
Small groups working a bank of real cases — clips with a decision attached. Name the cluster, choose between volume, vasopressor, inotrope and procedure, and say what you would look at again. Management is argued, not delivered.
4 · Simulation — the ALS block
Simulation belongs where a decision has to be made under a running clock, so it carries the ALS day rather than being spread thinly across every protocol. Scenarios run in real time with roles rotated, scored on the same forms every time, and debriefed on video rather than from memory. The clip is an EASy ALS session — a run the team thought went well, until the no-flow time was counted.

EASy POCUS Foundation Workshop — Cardiac Arrest, Clinical Deterioration & the Physiologically Difficult Airway
Post-conference workshop of the Aga Khan University Annual Anaesthesiology Conference 2026 (September 11–13): two-day focused subcostal POCUS workshop with hands-on training and simulation, led by international faculty at the Centre of Innovation and Medical Education. Perform the EASy exam with subcostal cardiac and IVC views, identify hypovolaemia, ventricular dysfunction and shock phenotypes, and support ultrasound-guided resuscitation and pre-induction optimization.
The EASy Workshop — POCUS During Perioperative Emergencies
One-day intensive workshop at the 14th National & 8th International Congress of the Jordanian Society of Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management: subcostal cardiac and IVC image acquisition with lung and gastric ultrasound, hemodynamic phenotypes of shock, small-group hands-on demonstrations, Code-Plus simulation, and clinical case discussions with report generation.
EASy POCUS Workshop — Perioperative Emergencies
From pre-induction optimization to ultrasound-guided resuscitation: hands-on EASy training in two half-day sessions at the Annual Congress of the Tunisian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, and Intensive Care (STAAR).
The Team and the Probe: Crisis Resource Management for the Unstable Perioperative Patient Using POCUS — Master Class
Full-day master class at the 80th PostGraduate Assembly in Anesthesiology (PGA80), directed by Nibras Bughrara, Daniel Katz and Aliaksei Pustavoitau. Crisis resource management taught through the probe: the rapid subcostal-focused workflow (EASy MAP and EASy PDA) for naming a hemodynamic phenotype, then didactic teaching, hands-on acquisition of the subcostal cardiac, IVC, lung, gastric and FAST views, and high-fidelity simulation built around team communication, leadership and escalation of care. Registration for PGA80 is required to attend.

The two examination counts measure different things. The 30 for the EASy competency certificate are expert-verified at adequate quality or better — a standard someone else confirms. The 50 for instructor candidacy are logged examinations: breadth of experience before you teach, not a second verification bar.
Completing the EASy pathway documents training within this program. It does not replace institutional credentialing, privileging, scope-of-practice requirements, or specialty-board certification.
