EASy POCUS collaborates with universities, hospitals, professional societies, and local educators worldwide to deliver practical point-of-care ultrasound education for clinicians caring for unstable patients.

Each program combines a common EASy framework with the needs, resources, and clinical priorities of the host institution.

Global learning, locally sustained

International training should build more than a successful workshop. It should leave behind clinicians who can continue practicing, reviewing examinations, mentoring colleagues, and teaching safely within their own institutions.

EASy in practice around the world

EASy POCUS education has been shared through workshops, clinical demonstrations, invited lectures, and longitudinal mentorship across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, South America, and the Caribbean.

United States — Albany Medical Center

EASy POCUS was developed at Albany Medical Center, and the course runs there for the anesthesiology and critical care trainees of its own departments.

The September 2026 course followed the standard shape: didactic teaching on the hemodynamic phenotypes, hands-on acquisition of the subcostal cardiac and IVC views on live models and phantoms, and simulation in the center's skills laboratory — the same three parts, in the same order, that the international courses run.

Host institution: Albany Medical Center

Training focus: EASy MAP, EASy PDA, subcostal image acquisition, hemodynamic phenotypes, and simulation.

Cambodia

In January 2023, EASy POCUS teaching was incorporated into the first POCUS course for anesthesiologists, intensivists, and emergency physicians in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The program combined case-based instruction, focused cardiopulmonary ultrasound, and small-group clinical teaching with Cambodian physicians. Participants practiced connecting cardiac, IVC, and lung findings to the physiology of shock, peri-intubation instability, and other time-sensitive clinical decisions.

The classroom course was followed by a week-long clinical deployment. Faculty and Cambodian clinicians rounded together on real patients in the emergency departments, intensive care units, and operating rooms — the examination applied where the decisions were actually being made, not on a course model.

The course was part of a broader two-day emergency medicine, critical care, and anesthesia conference attended by more than 100 Cambodian physicians. The program concluded with formal recognition from Cambodian health leadership.

Training focus: Cardiopulmonary POCUS, hemodynamic assessment, shock, resuscitation, and the physiologically difficult airway.

Thailand

Recurring international POCUS workshops in Bangkok have combined cardiac, lung, vascular, and resuscitation ultrasound with longitudinal mentorship and expert image review.

Training focus: Subcostal cardiac imaging, hemodynamic assessment, cardiac arrest, and the physiologically difficult airway.

Libya

EASy courses and simulation workshops have supported a growing national POCUS education network in collaboration with Libyan clinicians and professional societies.

The Libyan-American POCUS mentorship and instructor-development initiatives connect local clinicians with international mentors for continuing case review, feedback, and faculty development.

Training focus: EASy MAP, EASy ALS, perioperative emergencies, simulation, and instructor development.

Egypt

The inaugural POCUS During Perioperative Emergencies course in Cairo introduced the EASy approach through hands-on scanning, case-based hemodynamic phenotyping, and resuscitation simulation.

Training focus: Perioperative hypotension, the physiologically difficult airway, cardiac arrest, and clinical integration.

United Arab Emirates

EASy has been presented through international anesthesia and critical-care conferences in Abu Dhabi, with continued development of hands-on perioperative-emergency training.

Training focus: Subcostal cardiac imaging, pre-induction physiology, shock, and resuscitation.

Colombia and the Caribbean

Multispecialty programs in Medellín and Curaçao have brought practical POCUS education to anesthesiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, and other acute-care clinicians.

Training focus: Cardiopulmonary POCUS, rapid hemodynamic assessment, and multidisciplinary implementation.

Asia-Pacific and Latin America

Additional teaching collaborations have included programs and presentations in the Philippines, Chile, and other international settings.

Training focus: Critical-care ultrasound, noncardiac POCUS, cardiopulmonary assessment, and faculty development.

More than a visiting workshop

Participants complete foundational learning before the hands-on course, so in-person time can go to scanning, interpretation, and decision-making.

Learners acquire the EASy views, recognize physiologic patterns, and apply them during rapid-fire cases and simulation.

EASy courses are delivered with local clinicians who understand their healthcare system, available equipment, patient population, and educational priorities.

Local faculty are partners in curriculum adaptation, teaching, translation, mentorship, and program development. The long-term goal is not dependence on visiting instructors, but a sustainable network of capable local educators connected through a shared framework.

EASy POCUS Foundation Workshop — Cardiac Arrest, Clinical Deterioration & the Physiologically Difficult Airway

Post-conference workshop of the Aga Khan University Annual Anaesthesiology Conference 2026 (September 11–13): two-day focused subcostal POCUS workshop with hands-on training and simulation, led by international faculty at the Centre of Innovation and Medical Education. Perform the EASy exam with subcostal cardiac and IVC views, identify hypovolaemia, ventricular dysfunction and shock phenotypes, and support ultrasound-guided resuscitation and pre-induction optimization.
